CCSv5.2 "hanging" on most user interactions

Every time I save or perform most other user interactions a pop-up will appear "User operation is Waiting" with the action just being requested in die dialog box.

It appear the action is waiting for itself to complete before starting; then I have to restart code composer studio and if I'm lucky recover the lost work.

Really frustrating.

Happened in 5.2.0.00069, then upgrade to 5.2.1.00018 in the hop it will be fixed but still occurring.

    can you provide a bit further details?

    - which "user interactions" are causing the issues?  Can you provide details?  Screen captures?

    - how did you initially install CCS?  Would you be willing to try a fresh installation of the latest version into a new folder?

    - what OS are you using?  Do you have english windows? 

    - can you check for antivirus interference?

  • Save is the biggest problem (for obvious reasons), Open, Clean, Rebuild ..

    Downloaded v5.2 from ti site and installed.

    Windows XP SP3, stock standard English version.

    Tried disabling my antivirus no difference.

    Something funny I noticed...

    Seems to be limited if I'm not busy on the PC and the screen saver (and account logout) occurs.

    Not really interested in reinstalling at this moment, takes to too long costs to much. Too much work to do.

    so this is related to your screen saver/auto log out?  This could make sense as CCS typically needs permission and we have seen the permissions theme pop up regularly.  Can you confirm this?  What directory do you have CCS installed in?

    As we're are entering end of the year chaos season I didn't really spend a lot of time identifying the problem. I noticed that the problem replicating it self on other applications (for instance permission problems when wanting to Save documents in Word).

    So your explanations of permission problems makes sense, since all the problem applications seem to use JRE I suspect it might be a Java problem.

    The problem went away after I disabled my recently created "admin" account on my pc, this means I longer go need to go through the "Choose user page" after my screensaver has been deactivated, as there is only one active user account on the PC.

  • Not a fix, but acceptable workaround.  Never been a huge fan of the JRE/virtual machine solution, so in my ideal fix you will not be using Java. :)
