Error Reporting Tool Dialogue

Hi,

we are using CCSv5.2.1.00018 and after some time an error occurred.

That error isn't the reason for this post. But now we always get a dialogue from the error reporting tool once a day on startup. We are not able to send the error log, because we don't have an email client on our development system (Win7 32).

It seems there is a little bug with that error reporting dialogue: It's not possible to turn off the dialogue because the checkbox is grayed out:

Best regards,

Christian

  • Hi Christian,

does this persist even if you select "no"?   At what point do you see this continue to pop up?  Can you provide a few more details?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Christian,

Thanks for reporting that. You can disable that dialog from appearing by renaming "ErrorReportingTool.exe" in the \ti\ccsv5\ccs_base\bin\win32\ folder. Renaming this file won't have any other effect other than not running the tool.

  • Hi Lisa,

I had some CCS error about 3 weeks ago. Since then I got this window daily at first CCS start of each day . It doesn't matter whether I choose yes or no, the next day, this screen appears again.

    Best regards,

    Christian

  • Hi Andy,

I hereby make a feature request for future CCS releases:

Please add a possibility to enable/disable the error reporting mechanism under CCS->Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio. Many commercial tools have the ability to adjust messages to the manufacturer. Just renaming is somehow not very straight forward.

    Best regards,

    Christian
