C6000 Teaching Materials-Basic-Creating a Sin Wave Example

a couple things I can suggest checking as a first step

- can you confirm there were no build errors?

- can you try moving reimporting the example to a directory with no spaces?  (I noticed Eltron Yu as part of the path)

- can you check for permissions/antivirus blocking issues

I don't think it is antivirus issues, since Eclipse worked before. But I tried running the program as administrator, and that's not the problem.

I tried just starting over and setting the directory to C:/c6748, and it gives the same error message. 

I re-read the instructions carefully, and double-checked every step. I can confirm there were no build errors. 

I am still open to other suggestions.

how have you been trying to load the .out file?  Can you confirm it is there on the pc and generated?

I am just clicking the Debug button. 

I cannot find the out file on the Pc.

HI Elton,

that is odd.  If the .out file is not being generated then there are two immediate causes I can think of.  One is the build was not successful, the other is that something is blocking the file write such as permissions, antivirus etc.

Can you confirm both that the build had no issues?  Ie does the console window tell you the .out was generated?  Can you confirm the ,out is in fact not generated?

Would you be willing to either share your project offline or else direct me to the exact example you have been trying to see if I can reproduce this?

I've already disabled my antivirus and even my firewall now. Same error. 

Although it was quick, I can show you the console log.

Hi Elton,

it looks like you have build errors.  See the line "Target 'all' not remade because of errors".

Have a look in your problems view, which you can bring up under View->Problems.   The next step is to resolve these build errors.

I get these two type of errors. I'm not sure how to fix them

#10010 errors encountered during linking; "CCS4_Introduction.out" not 

#10056 symbol "_main" redefined: first defined in "./main.obj";

can you be more specific about exactly what you are trying and the errors you get.  

For example, this line seems incomplete:

#10010 errors encountered during linking; "CCS4_Introduction.out" not

What debugging have you tried and have you double checked the include paths and options?

I'm not sure what you are asking for.

I added a built. But i'm not sure how that helps.

ok I downloaded the ROM, but this comes from the product/university group.   Where is the example you are using located in the set of material? What portions/items did you install so I can try to follow your steps and see if I see similar issues.

i went to the word document called guidelines first and followed those instructions. Then you can click the HTML file called Basic. It will link you, and under basic examples, click create and graph a sin wave.

I tried what I think is the same example you did, building the two .c files as instructed etc.  I saw no issues and was able to build and load to the simulator as directed.  Can you provide any further details?  What is your exact setup as I can not reproduce this at all.

The only thing I can think of is the version of CCS. It says to use CCS 4 which I can't find a free download of. But I am using CCS 5. Maybe that is the problem?

I actually tried with the latest v5 version so I don't think version is the problem.  I would likely need further information to be able to help.

Well, I might have spotted something potential. I re-read the guidelines, and it said to install CCSv5 in the C:/CSS directory. I see that folder on the desktop instead, and in the directory C:/ti.

Because everything else is installed in the C:/CSS directory, could that be the reason.

I tried to move the folder, but I could not run CCS after moving it. I tried re-downloading it, but it wouldn't let me redownload it, probably because I didn't uninstall.

My question is: Can I re-download CCSV5 after uninstalling it? Will it still work? If this is the problem of course.

Hi Elton,

the directory should not necessarily be a problem here. I do not have either piece of software installed in the default directory.   The main thing is that you should not use directories with accented characters or spaces.

If you feel your installation is problematic for sure try reinstalling.

I'm not sure if you can see this image properly. I started over, again, and obtained the same error. I've print screened the build compilation better this time.

did you modify any build settings?  Do  you have two main functions between all the c files you included?  From the guide you should have created the two c files with the code given.

Well, i wanted to see if it would work, just by itself. But anyways, i tried it with both files created. And it still didn't work.2022.problem2.docx

I kept the configuration the same, all I did was make sure the directories had absolutely no weird characters.

I found out a problem. I didn't set it to C/C++ perspective because I couldn't find it the first time. Anyways, now it won't launch the program.

Nvm, turns out I was clicking the new run button in that perspective. Still can't figure it out the debug problem.

Hi Elton,

first of all it is the CCS perpsectives you need to be using.  The error message in your recent post is likely if your project is not selected when you try to launch or you have no target configuration setup.  (ccxml file)

I would check these items.

before i switched it, it was in CCS perspective. Still gives the same .out file cannot be opened. I checked everything now... I'm not sure how to proceed fixing this.
