CCSv5 on beagleboard-xm with Ubuntu 11.04

Hi,

I want to create a program in C ( like FFT) , compile it and run it on the same DSP and run on ARM and see the differences in performance. CCSv5 must be installed on linux pc and cross-compile or I can also install it directly on the BeagleBoard on which I have to run programs that compile?
