Can not install CCS5 plugins into an existing MyEclipse environment

I have been using MyEclipse development environment (currently version 10.0) for several years now for Java development and I now have a need to use Code Composer Studio 5 (CCS5).  One of the options is to install the CCS5 plugins into an existing Eclipse installation (which I prefer to do), however, when I select the option and point to the Existing Eclipse Location, I get an error saying "There is no eclipse executable found in C:\Users\<myName>\AppData\Local\MyEclipse  Please choose a valid location".  This path is the proper one and the executable is named myeclipse.exe.  It is true that it is not really an 'eclipse' installation however I was wondering if it is possible to install the plugins into my existing MyEclipse environment? and if so, could you please explain how? If it is not possible using the installation program, is it possible to successfully install the plugins from the installation image.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi Tom,

unfortunately, at the very least currently, CCS can only really be installed as a plug in to the Eclipse C development environment.   I believe it is likely looking for eclipse.exe or eclipsec.exe, which is why it is rejecting the myeclipse as a non valid item.

If you download and install CCS the correct eclipse version will be automatically installed alongside.  I recommend this as the best option as you will need an installation of the other eclipse version alongside regardless.

You can get CCS from the link below but please note there is a server swap going on currently so it may be a little bit before things are up again.
