Code Composer Studio on VMware Windows Server 2008 R2 Issues

Hello together,

maybe somebody already experienced this:

We have some Issues to get Code Composer Studio V5 floating licence Server running on a W2008 Server R2 SP1 running in a VMware. We installed the Licence Server exactly after the http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/License_Server_Administration_for_CCS instructions. But unfortunately either the service starts op nor were able to access the web interface on  127.0.0.1:8080 just comes up page can not be displayed..

Anybody running a VMware and had similar Problems?

Will be very thankful for any suggestions :-)

Cheers,

Stefan,

TI Semiconductors

  • Hi Stefan,

what browser are you using?  I have set up a license in a VM with no problems, however did find IE worked where firefox did not.

What steps have you take so far?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa!

They'r using the newsest Version of IE. We already tried to re-install it step by step like its said in the processors wiki and everything 2 times, the Customer checked also with his IT Security Department if any Ports or something were blocked but according them, all fine.

I got screenshots from some error messages, you can see them here: http://imgur.com/a/8l2sQ

I will now try to install it myself on a vm but i guess i will not experience the same problems...

    Greetings for a nice Monday,

    Stefan

  • Hi Stefan,

please keep us informed.   Have they been sure to double check permissions?  They seem to be getting a "connection refused" error .....

Can they verify the server and vendor daemon are running and set up as a service as directed?  Can you provide any further details?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

well, thats what they said. They checked with their IT department. Well thats the Problem i guess. The Service is quite not starting. They/ We tried to create a Service manually and its not working. Its just not starting. They have other Service Based applications running there which serves licences and they are working, but with CCS its a Problem. I think it is some rights Problem. I will have a WebEx session late on that week and will try some additional Stuff, but in the end i think its no Software failure but a permission Problem, as you mentioned.

As soon i come on something new i will let you know.

     Greetings,

    Stefan

  • Hi Stefan,

ok, please keep me informed, also if you need me in the webex depending on the timing.

    All the best,

    Lisa
