Application crashes when start debugging - 5.2.1 and 5.3.0 - msp430 - 32b Linux - Ubuntu 10.04 - and 12.10

Hi there,

I have problems with CCS 5 at the moment of starting thedebug session with msp430F5528,

Same project never crashes  in a Windows 7 machine.

It can take two or more debug session before it crashes. Incident happens at starting the Debug session

This is the message I got when   running from the bash

I have read other thread, but could find any solution.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Marco,

    does this happen with every project/workspace when you try to launch the debugger?  Would you be able to turn on some of this logging and send us any error logs

    Do you launch CCS with the same permissions as you installed it with? Ie install as user and launch as user or install and launch as sudo (better)  Do you have all required dependencies installed?

    >> yes, at least three different projects

    >>yes,  attached one error log

    >>Yes, it happens as same and different user / sudo installs and launches.

    Do you have all required dependencies installed?

    >>Don't know how to check them,  but both ubuntus are up to date.  Same happens in a Desktop as well as Laptop.  Incident never happens in a win7

    Hi Marco,

    we suspect this is possibly a known (bug or related) we are tracking and fixing.  Would be willing to try enabling, generating and sending the debug server log?  The wiki link on troubleshooting I sent will help you do this.

    Hi Lisa,

    Sorry for the delayed response, I work three days per week onsite with CCS5 on windows 7 but there are no crashes there,

    Today I am working where the CCS 5 on Linux box is installed and has some Debug upsets.

    After few debug sessions CCS 5.3 crashes in Ubuntu 10.04. A link to the log file is attached,

    FYI is around 17MB.

    ok, many thanks.   This might be related to a known bug.  Unfortuantely, there is no work around or current fix at all we are able to offer.
