Code Composer Studio Launching problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I have a problem with launching a project in Code Composer studio Version 5.2.0.00069.

I use the evaluation kit Stellaris EKS-LM4F232.

When I press the debug button it starts initializing and downloading the code, but it doesn’t work.

In the Console it writes:

CORTEX_M4_0: GEL Output:

Memory Map Initialization Complete

And then it stops. In the right side the green bar is still working and the system writes:

Launching hello (100%).

The situation is the same with evaluating connected or not.

But the system locks, I can’t close down the process, even with the task manager. A process named ccstudio.exe can’t be killed. That means that I have to reboot the PC before I can start code composer studio up again.

I have reinstalled everything’s and it works one time, but after a new debug start the behavior is the same, the system locks when I start debugging.

I have to mention that I have a laptop where the same installation works, but it is an old machine which is very slow, and I share this with others.

Does anyone have similar problems and what was the solution?

Best regards,

Bent

  • Hi Bent,

would you please be able to provide further information to help us try and help you.   What OS are you running?  Do you have full permissions on all files/folders etc being using/accessed?  Are you able to check for antivirus interference?  Do you get any error logs or dump files generated you could send us?  (Please see the wiki link below).  Have you installed the drivers for that new Stellaris board?  What is your license setup?  Can you check your proxy settings?  What about using the latest released version of CCS?

    Please keep us informed.

  • Hi Lisa

Thanks for your response. Here are some answers to your questions.’

The PC is running Windows 7

I have full access to files folders being used

I am not able to disable the antivirus program running (Microsoft Forefront) this is controlled by a IT department.

(But it is same setup on both laptop, and the machine where the launching doesn’t work)

I do not get any error log or dump file.

Yes I have installed the drivers for the Stellaris board, and last time I deleted the drivers and reinstalled them it works one time. i.e. after stopping debugging and start debugging again I got same problem.

My license setup is on a license server. (I have no problem in compiling etc.)

I am able to see proxy settings but not changing (don’t know how to do that)

I will try to implement the newest version of the CCS.

    Best regards,

    Bent

  • Hi Bent,

ok, thanks for the further information.  Yes, if possible, please try the latest version.  Also, if you can, please try to enable logging as described in that wiki link I sent.

I take it you see this with all projects/workspaces on the problematic pc?    Without logs it might  be a bit difficult to debug.   What are some differences between the working and non working systems.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa

I have now enabled logs, and the result is enclosed.

I have also taken two screendumps of the situation, mabye they can help.

There should be no difference in the setup of the 2 PC's regarding CC5 and stellaris the PC is also running win7, and most of the programms installed is the same. Both machines is under controlle by our IT department. But some installed programmes is different, speed is slower, and HW is different.

I will now try to find the newest CC5 and install it.

     Best regards,

     Bent

Sorry I belived that it was possible to enclose files.

    How to deliver logs?
