Upgrade CCS from size limited license to time limited license

I installed CCS 5.3.0.00067 (RC1) and must have selected size limited license. Now that I've got my IAR project mostly ported to evaluate, I find that it doesn't fit in memory. I should have chosen the time limited license (I thought I did, but maybe that was CCS 5.2 ??). Anyways, is there an easy way to change/upgrade to the time limited license now that I've got my project up and running ??

Just confirming that my CCS v5.2 install is time limited. Can I copy a license file from this install to my v5.3(RC1) install ??

So I reinstalled v5.3.0.00067 to a new directory and it asked me for a license. I selected the EVALUATION (time limited) but it gave an error. Not sure if I'm missing something or it's a bug ?? The official release of v5.3 is coming soon (I hope) so maybe it will be ok then ??

Hi Brendan,

a couple things. Did you try relaunching the license manager? Help->Code Composer Studio Licensing INformaiton-> Upgrade tab

Do you have full permissions? What error do you see, or what are you getting in v5.3?

Yes, I did try upgrading the license. I have attached a screenshot of the error.

HI Brendan,

that is a new one for us. Unfortunately I can only recommend reinstalling as it appears something might have gotten corrupted if there are files that it can not find to do the auto activation.

Please try that in a fresh directory and keep us informed.

oops. just saw a web page pop up and request network hardware IDs. I filled out the info and got the license and now it works <blush>. I don't recall having done that with v5.2. From memory I just got the 90 day trial from installation time without applying for a license. Anyway it seems to be getting further now and created the .out file :)

I had the same problem after running CCS v5.3 for the first time. Second time redirected to the web page. It might be a bug, that during first run one gets an error message instead of being redirected when trying to run EVALUATION license.

there is a known issue with v5.3 and the evaluation license unfortunately. Please contact me offline by a friend or conversation request. This is why the download is actually temporarily removed.
