I have updated to CCSv5.3.0 from CCSv5.2.1 (in part, for the fix to SDSCM00044820). I proved to myself that the bug was fixed using Normal verbosity, but my workaround for the buggy 5.2.1 version (posted here ) no longer works. It looks like the bug is now present for the Super Quiet build verbosity ONLY. I've since gotten used to the Super Quiet verbosity and would like to keep using it, but now I have to go back to Normal to workaround the bug again!
Hi Andy,
how did you migrate to v5.3? The update path to 5.3 was removed as unfortunately it was found to cause issues. Can you please provide details? I looked at the bug report and could not reproduce the issue in normal or super quiet mode. For me the errors cleared.
Best Regards,
Lisa
It's 5.3.0.00090 from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS
There's a note about an faulty earlier build of 5.3.0.00083 there, but the link is still very much up for 5.3.00090.
I'll see if I can come up with steps from scratch to recreate the problem.
Here are the steps I used to recreate the issue.
Create new workspace.
Create new CCS project, using defaults, pick ARM lm3s9b96 part with ICDI connection, blank project with main.c.
(I am using TI ARM compiler v5.0.2)
Set super quiet mode via Window-Preferences-CodeComposerStudio-Build.
Build the project (it builds without errors)
Remove semicolon at line 6 in main.c, build the project (it builds showing 1 error marker in Problems view).
Replace semicolon at line 6 in main.c, build the project (it builds, but the error marker still exists).
Clean the project (it builds, removing the error marker).
Edit: Attached my resulting workspace/project. 2018.ws_test.zip
Hi Andy,
I tried both your steps and your project and for me the errors clear. How did you get v5.3? would you be willing to download the currently posted full version and try a fresh installation in to a new directory?
Best Regards,
Lisa
I have re-downloaded (offline install) and re-installed, but the problem persists.
Hi Andy,
this is very odd and we are all puzzled here as two or three of us now simply have not been able to see the same behaviour. As mentioned ... I personally tried with a control suite project, wirh your project, and following your steps on the blank Stellaris project. We all see the problems window clear.
How clean was your new isntallation? Did you use a toatlly new directory (no accented/special characters or spaces) and remove all traces of the old installation? what OS are you using?
Best Regards,
Lisa
Strange. I did as clean an install as I know how, to a brand new directory (C:\ti_test as opposed to C:\ti). Other than uninstalling CCS via the control panel, what other traces might there be to remove? I thought eclipse (and it's plugins) were pretty well self contained in the install folder, so as long as the ccsv5 folder was gone after the uninstall it was completely gone. I am running Windows 7 32-bit SP1. Is there a way I can set up some sort of debug logging in eclipse to shed some light?
Thanks for looking into this.
Hi Andy,
sounds like you don't have a setup that is out of the ordinary and have been doing the usual things. Unless we can reproduce this I am not sure what to suggest next. As mentioned even a couple of us tried here. Do you have another setup to try? Have you checked the permissions on your instlalation/project files?
Best Regards,
Lisa
