Execution of BCP example project using CCS V 5.3.0 simulator version.

Hello All,

I am currently working on the simulator version of CCS V 5.3.0. When I executed BCP example project provided by TI using the simulator version, I am facing some issues. I am able to import the example project into CCS, build it without any problem. But after building, when I launch / debug the project, I am getting a error dialog box with the title " Component Simulation Model " and the launching stops there , followed by crashing of entire CCS.

I am not sure whether the error is with respect to my own system or with CCS. This error comes only when I run BCP projects and not while running other projects( I am able to run the ltelib_2_00_00_06_generic projects without any problem using the same simulator version).

Initially the BCP project also worked for 2 to 3 times, and all of a sudden now its not working. I have tried executing the BCP project several times, and consistently getting the same error. I have used the target configuration as TCI6618  Device Functional Simulator - Little Endian.

I have also attached the screen shot of the error message displayed for further reference.

Please guide me in solving this problem and to proceed further.

Thanks and Regards,

DHIVAKAR PADMANABAN.

  • Dhivakar,

Could you let us know the exact project (along with which software package it comes with) you are importing and building so we can try to replicate the problem?

  • Aarti,

I am running the BCP example project and its details are as follows:

    Project Name      :  BCP_testProject

    Project Location :  C: \ ti \ pdk_C6670_1_1_0_3 \ packages \ ti \ drv \ exampleProjects \ Bcp_testProject.

CCS Version       : CCS V 5.3.0.( Currently running on simulator version only)

Taget Configuration : TCI6618 Device Functional Simulator, Little Endian

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Dhivakar,

I am unable to reproduce the probelm you are using. I am able to build, load and run the Bcp_testProject without CCS crashing.

I am using a version of PDK slightly different than yours (1.1.2.5), which comes with the latest MCSDK. I'm not sure if that makes a difference but it may not hurt to install the latest MCSDK and try it with this latest version of PDK. Also if you have access to another PC you could test there as well. If you do not have success, maybe you can try uninstalling and reinstalling CCS 5.3 just to be sure that there isn't anything in your system/installation that is causing the issue.

If the issue still persists with a reinstall of CCS 3.3 and the latest version of PDK, please capture any error logs, crash dump files and debug server logs, zip them up and attach them here. The procedure/location to find these logs is described here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCSv5#CCS_Diagnostic_Logs
