CCS 5.3 installing and downloading trouble

Hi,

I´m running CCS 5.2.0.00069 - first great thing being, when i "check for updates" no update is found.

After i verified myself again to be allowed to downlaod CCS 5.3 i got the link from ti and installed the installer which says...

Which i chose to ignore - may there be trouble later?

I proceeded but got stuck at the following message:

And i´m done. ;-( I checked the firewall - nothing there. Whats wrong?

best regards

Dominik

  • Hi Dominik,

a couple things.  Are you trying to install v5.3 over the older version?  If so you are hitting two known items

    - it is known to cause problems if you run the new installer over an older version

    - many updates are temporarily down at the moment.

My best suggestion is to get the full 5.3 download from and install 5.3 into a separate directory (no spaces or accented characters/spaces)

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS

Please keep us informed how that goes.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • I´m running the full download (1,36 GB) right now.

But forgive my sarcasm.... it´s kind of funny: i wanted to fix a known bug in the disassembler view. Due to a bug in CCS a new Update is not shown when you "check for updates". The Webinstaller Updater causes problems when installed over an older version (will it work with a newer one? ;-) ) and won´t download the rest of the software due to the link being down... ;-)

While writing this the download finally finished...

After download the complete packet, installing over the older version failed with "cannot install eclipse"...  As you promised ;-(

I changed the directory and reran install. This works fine. So i´d call the issue "resolved"!

    Thanks!

  • Hi Dominik,

ok, great.  Once again sorry for the inconvenience but very glad to hear that you are up and running.

    All the best with development.

    Best regards,
