CCS v5.2.1 update to CCS 5.3.0

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MATHLIB

Hello,

I was running an update on my CCS 5.2.1 from whatever was found in Help->Check for updates, it downloaded everything and installed, but loading the workspace and converting the projects ended with a "Waiting for user operation" forever box, which I closed and restarted CCS. Now the projects are loaded, but run another update and some Eclipse platform updates were applied. After another restart, another check for update and now I receive a "The operation could not be completed. See the details" with the following error message:

Also see the image of available updates. Is this supposed to happen? I don't have any other Eclipse instance or any PC development tools on my system.

My environment is Windows 7,

  • Hi David,

there have been some known issues with the update unfortuntely.   In fact we literally just re-released 5.3 as an update.   May I ask when you ran the update?  I would first like to determine whether you are likely affected by the probelematic version.

ALso, install logs would be great if you would be able to attach them as a zip.  These would be found in the installjammer registry directory which is a potentially hidden folder in program files/program files(x86)

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi David,

could you please do/try the following.  In Window->Preferences->Install/Update->Available Software Sites please disable the juno site (this is one of the eclipse ones) and try updatinge again.

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • To add a couple of details: the Eclipse 3.8 updates which you applied just prior to the 2nd restart have enabled the Eclipse "Juno"  update site. The Eclipse Juno updates are not compatible with this install and you get the dependency errors you see.  The Eclipse 3.8 updates are provided by eclipse.org. We're looking into what we can do to prevent this from occurring.

  • Hi Lisa, AndyW,

That seems to fix the issue, it reports no more updates found. I must say this version of CCS seems much more stable, also rebuilding the project every time when entering debug mode seems to be gone considering it takes a few minutes to rebuild.

    Thank you and best regards,

    David.

  • Hi David,

glad to hear and thanks for letting us know..  Thanks Andy.

    All the best with development.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
