C5535 Device-Variants not pre-installed - dont know what to do

Hello All,

I purchased the EZDSP C5535 evaluation kit a couple of days ago, and am trying to write my own program for it and download it using Code Composer Studio. Here is a link to the TI page for the kit http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdx5535ezdsp

After opening the box, I connected the device and attempted to install the contents on the small CD that came with the unit. It doesnt fit in my disk drive, so I went online to download the latest release for CCS V5. After installation completed, I ran CCS. When attempting to create a new project, the New Project Wizard does not include my device variant (even though i check marked that the libraries for the C5000 series should be installed with CCS during the download wizard). I dont know at all what to do in order to be able to select this device variant. See a picture below for what my New Project Wizard page looks like. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Nathan,

I just created a new project in CCS v5.3 and this device was available. Can you please confim your CCS vesion? You can see this in Help->About Code Composer studio.

Your new project wizard does not look like my 5.3 wizard.

This is what I see when I click on "About Code Composer Studio." It does not have the version number. It is 2011 though, which I know is not the latest release. Where do I go to in order to I install your release (5.3)?

Hi Nathan,

that does not look normal as it should show a version number. When and how did you install CCS? Have you previously had a working version? Could you zip and send us your installation logs? These would be in the installjammer registry directory (a possibly hidden folder in program files or program files (x86)).

I reinstalled CCS and now my device variant shows up. Reinstalling fixed my problem. Thanks!
