trouble creating target configuration for ezdsp5535 in ccs5

Hi,

I'm trying to create a target configuration for the ezdsp5535 board. I'm using CCS  5.1.0.06000. I had a working target configuration using CCS4, and am following the same approach:    Connection is TI xds100v2 USB. The only available 5535 devices displayed are: USBSTK5535 and TMS320C5535 - the ezdsp5535 does not appear in the window.

I updated the spectrum digital emulators software to 5.2.0.06, but this did not help. Any suggestions? Thanks,

    Jim,

    My initial thought is its the CCSv5 version.  I'm running CCSv5.2.1 and i see EZDSP5535, USBSTK5535 and TMS320C5535 (generic).  Can you upgrade to newer CCSv5?

    I also used XDS100v2 as the connection.

    I am having the same issue with CCS 5.2.0.9...  I have XDS100 but cant find where to download XDS100V2??? At the moment I am trying a simple hello world piece of code and keep getting the error

    "#1009-D program will not fit into available memory .  Placement with alignment/blocking fails for section ".text" size 0x406F page 0, available memory ranges: DDRAM1 size:0x2000"

    I am a total beginner in CCS and DSP so please feel free to ask all those questions that one would assume that I would know the answer too...

    I can add that I initially expected it to be the .gel file but I can confirm that I am using this and it is loaded correctly in the target config setting.  I am using the Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM-eZDSP onboard USB Emulator.

    I can see the TI XDS100 Channel A and TI XDS100 Channel B in the device manager 


    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Marc,

    I am experiencing the same issue, using the newest 5.4 CCS version. EZDSP5535 is not displayed under the target configuration device selection menu, however TMS320C5535 is. How should this issue be resolved? Please advice.
