Hi,

I wanted to know some technical information regarding TMS320F2812software and hardware details.

 
Currently we are using "spectrum digital XDS510PP -- PLUS with printer port" debugger and ccsversion 3.3 on windows xp.Now we are planning to purchase   ccs version 5.0 from TI. SO we need information like the same debugger which currently we are using will support for ccs version 5.0 or we need to buy a new debugger to support this version. we need to install this software on windows 7 as well as xp.So please ca you suggest the best suited debugger for ccs version 5.0 in both windows xp and windows 7 systems. Thanks..

    Sandhya,

    Given that it is really hard to find a computer that even has a parallel port I would recommend that you move to a USB JTAG emulator.  The cheapest option would be the XDS100v2.  XDS100 is <$100 and can work with a free CCS license.  That way you can just download CCSv5 and activate a free license.

    The next step up would be an XDS200 which offers better performance.  Best performance comes from an XDS560v2 class emulator.

    Spectrum still provides drivers for the XDS510PP in CCSv5 so you can continue to use it.
