CCS 5.3 giving the socket error while installing eclipse what should I do?

I recommend you do try the latest version, 5.3 as you seem to be.   Can you please describe the error you see?  Would you please send the installation logs?  What OS are you running?  If windows the logs are in the installjammer registry directory, which may be hidden, and can be found under program files or program files (x86).

Some tips and things you can double check :

- antivirus interference

- permissions

- please do not use the program files directory, or I would recommend avoiding directories with spaces in general

- redownload in case of corruption

- fully unzip the installer before installation
