CCS 5 floating license problem

Hi all:

We have a University Floating Site License CCS 5 (TMDSCCS-ALLUNVF100-v5),

and we do not know how to configure the CCS client to connect to the license

server.

We have installed the license server according to the document "License Server

Administration for CCS". According to the LMTOOLS utility, the server is up and

running, with the following System Information:

Computer/Hostname: LEP15

IP address: 192.168.0.38

Ethernet address: 00e07df8f0cb

Port: 27000

Within the  CCS clients, when selecting:

Help -> Code Composer Studio Licensing Information -> Upgrade -> Launch
License Setup -> ACTIVATE -> Next> -> Specify a license server

We get a dialog window asking for the Address and Port. We have tried many combinations

(LEP15, 192.168.0.38 etc. etc.,  and 27000 for the port) but we did not succeed, and the CCS

client is in the 90 days trial mode.

We have verified Windows firewall configurations in both the server and the cilent, and all

seems to be OK. All computers are running Windowx XP Pro.

Any help with the Address and Port configurations are welcomed.

Thanks,

Wilson

  • Hi Wilson,

what leads you to believe that things are not working?  You will not be able to truely test until the trial license expires as it is only then CCS will look for another license.  If you set up a fresh installation and setup the server immediately ... this is when you should be able to determine whether things are configured correctly.

Please keep us informed.  Using the full MAC address is best and the port ... did you input 8080? But first verify 27000 and also double check antivirus and permissions items as these may interfere in some cases.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hello Liza:

I though that the option Help -> Code Composer Studio Licensing Information

allowed replacing the 90 days licence with the full one.

Anyway, you were right: I installed the CCS client in another machine and

set the license server as "lep15" and the por as "27000". It worked.

I wish the documentation were more clear about this 90 days issue.

    Thank you for the help.

  • Hi Wilson,

it is a point we have been discussing regarding this demo license behaviour.    But very happy to hear you seem to have things solved and all the best with development.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
