C2000 code generator tools installation problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Hi,

I am using CCS version 4.1.0 and I need to build an existing eclipse project. When I attempt to do it, a message as " Managed Make functionality will not be available for this project" cames out. In preceding discussions,  I found out that such a problem is related to the project version. Then, I updated CCS trying to fix it, by following http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Compiler_Installation_and_Selection#CCStudio_4.0.

I have a new problem.. "Unable to complete action for feature "C2000 Code Generator Tools" do to errors". The following picture shows what cames out:

What can I do? I attach the logs file even if I don't know if it would be useful. I'm new of CCS and probably there is something I'm missing. Thank you for any help you'll give me.

  • Hi Valeria,

I would recommend a couple things, but to clarify, are you trying to use a C2000 part?  From your post it would seem so.

    - first I would use and install the latest ccs version, v5.3

    - please verify you are creating a CCS Project.  If you simply create an eclipse project you will not have access to ti compilers and tool features.  project->new ccs project

  • Hi Lisa,

Thank you for answering. The situation is a little more complex. I have bought an InvenSense Device and I am following the tutorial to get confidence with it (MPU9150). In the driver tutorial (Embedded Motion Driver v.5.1) there is the explanation how to build the project with CCS. The example is about MPU430. I first downloaded the last version of CCS, v5.3, but when I attempted to build the project an error message was displayed (something about the CCS version. v.4.1 requires). That's why I decided to download the v.4.1. Once installed it, I tried to import the project from the folder in which the Embedded Motion Driver was as explained in the tutorial. The error dialog box displayed is the following:

Have I to try again with the last version? Which is your advice?

  • Hi Valeria,

I am not familiar with the part(s) you mention.  Can you please point me to it?  I am wondering if this might be a question for the device group or for InvenSense.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Yes! The link to the MPU9150 product is the following:  http://www.invensense.com/mems/gyro/mpu9150.html . To access to the driver it is necessary to have an user account. I'll try to write to InvenSense suppor. Thank you very much for your help.
