Debugging Linux kernel with ccs5.3

Debug host: win7 64bit, ccs5.3, compile workstation: vmware running centos 6.3

target: EVMDM6446, emulator: xds560v2 type emulator (SSD-XDS560v2 Plus)

u-boot &uImage burned in flash,vmlinux compiled with debug info(size 42M)

Following instructions found in an old post http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/114583.aspx

Now i can break at start_kernel with H/W breakpoint. But neither H/W or S/W breakpoint can break at schedule.

Any clues? Thanks!

when suspend, usually break at do_alignment_ldsmstm

Hi Jianjun,

Can you check if the Linux OS has been booted up successfully ?

If so, you should hit the bp at schedule quite often.

If not, it could mean that the OS is not up yet OR the symbol file does not match the linux image you flashed on the target.

Linux OS has been booted up successfully. I can see the boot sequnce in serial concole, and login as root, and run shell command.
