Error initializing emulator

Hi,

I have a launchpad(MSP430G2553) and I installed CCS but when I launch my code the emulation stops and i have an error: Error initializing emulator: Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port

I tried it on another computer and it worked perfectly but I would like it to work on mine too.

Can anybody help me, please ?

    Hi Yassine,

    what OS are you using? I ask because the launchpad is not yet supported in Linux.

    Some potential causes of this error

    - permissions/antivirus issues

    - driver installation problems

    - COM port conflicts or problems. 

    - USB Port ... sometimes a USB port or hub may not work with a device for some odd reason

    Please keep us informed.  It sounds like the board is fine and the chip correctly in the socket.
