Error opening project in CCS V5.3

Hi all,

I just upgraded my CCS today to the latest version using the update function in Help (it is now Version: 5.3.0.00090). Now every time I go to a project, a Window pops up and tells me there's some kind of issue with CCS. I am also no longer able to clean or build projects that were fine before. I have included a screenshot of the error. Can someone point me to what's wrong and how to fix it? Thanks!

Thanks!

  • Hi Tim,

what version did you upgrade from?  Unfortunately it is likely you have hit a known issue for which the only work around is a clean ccs v5.3 install to a new directory.

Please try that and keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

That was my guess and so I have already started an uninstall, fresh download, and re-install. Will let you know how that goes. Shall I do the same for my laptop?

    Thanks,

    Tim

  • Hi Tim,

it wouldn't hurt.   Sorry for the inconvenience and please do keep us informed.  Our install/update path is something we are focusing more effort on due to some of the issues such as this we have come across.  I suspect your version of ccs was "old" enough to have mistakenly pulled in eclipse juno updates which are not compatible with ccs.  The current version has these now turn off by default.

Best regards and I hope that will get you up and running again.

  • Hi Lisa,

Last night I finished uninstalling and re-installing the latest version of CCS (5.3) and things appear to be running Ok. I pulled in a project and was able to do a build. Plus I did not get error pop-ups anymore.

I believe the version I was upgrading from is 5.2.1.00018

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Tim

  • Hi Tim,

yes that version would certainly have had problems on an update path unfortunately.

Glad to hear the fresh installation went well and thanks for the update.  Sorry again for the inconvenience.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa
