TMS320F2805x in Code Composer

Hello,

I would like to ask question how to add  new C2000 TMS320F2805x to Code Composer. We decided to use this microcontroller in our application. I am using CCS 4.2.4.00033, but I did not find this type of microcontroller in list of devices in project settings. I updated CCS with latest C2000 Code Generatiom Tools with usign CCS Find and Install function, but there is still no 2805x device in the list.

We dont want to move to CCS 5 now. I think it is not about the CCS version.

I need also this for emulation tool Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator. Because there is no possiblity to choose this new C2000 in target configuration.

Can you help me please how can I add this new C2000 TMS320F2805x to Code Composer?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Peter Prno

  • Peter,

we added a lot of improvments into CCSv5 see : http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CCSv5_Changes.
Additionally we added new features into F2805x(e.g. OPAMPs, Windowed Comparators) that need to be supported by CCS.
It is possible to run CSSv4 and CCSv5 on the same computer if you install them in different folders.
    CCSv5 supports all F2805x devices

    Regards, Bernd

  • Hi Bernd,

Thank you for reply, but for me and my company It will be better to stay at CCS v4. We plan to move to CCS v5 later, because as I understand, there is need to purchase new licence for CCS v5.

If it is possible to stay at CCS v4, can you write me please ?

    Thank you.

There are no plans to officially support 2805x in CCSv4. But it is possible to get 2805x working v4 by copying the various 2805x files from v5 into the v4 directory.

I've attached a zip of these files. Extract the contents into your CCS root install directory (ex: C:\ti).

Note that this suggestion is an unofficial hack. If you run into other issues when using this hack with v4, we will not be able to provide much support. Hence we strongly encourage you move to v5 as soon as possible.

    Thanks
