Is it possible to wakeup dsp from reset without Gelfile in DM8148?

Hi All,

we are using DM814X board for our project. When we connect target to the emulator, we right clicked on CORTEXA8 and made connect target. Then when we tried connecting DSP, it produces error like

C674X_0:Error connecting to the target :Error 0X80000240/-1180 Fatal Error during:Initializion ,OCS,The target is being held in reset.The applied reset must be released before progressing.

Note: These process is done with no gel files.

Hi,

You have to use a GEL file or use an intercore communications software such as SYSLink to bring the DSP out from reset and control it from the ARM core.

Hi Desouza,

Could you please elaborate on how to use SYSLINK to take DSP out of reset.?

Already we are using syslink_2_10_02_17 in our DSP project in building the out file!.

Anyother things need to be done.

Hi,

Unfortunately we here at the CCS forum are not very knowledgeable about SysLink, therefore I strongly suggest you to check how this can be done in either the BIOS or the DM814x forums - the experts there will be much more knowledgeable about these technologies.

Please check the reference that helps explain the process of taking the DSP out of reset using DSP/Link (the previous version of SysLink, but the same concepts apply):
