Forum post deletion

Hello,

The following post http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/compiler/f/343/p/117670/418132.aspx#418132 seems to be empty even though it was verified. I found other empty posts from the same user:

Did the user delete these posts?

If so, is it possible to prevent a user from deleting their post after receiving help from the forum? It doesn't seem fair that someone who receives help from the forum would be allowed to delete their post.

When I look at those threads, there are no empty posts. Perhaps there is something wrong with your web browser, or perhaps there is some problem with the forum that you're seeing and I'm not, due to whatever reason. What web browser are you using?

Hello,

I was using internet explorer 8 on windows XP.

I tried google chrome and now I am able to see the post.

Interesting... I get the same behavior with IE8 on Win7. I'll let the forum administrators know.

It appears those were all posts where pasting by the user was done directly into the rich text editor from a Microsoft product (like Word, etc) and as a result many versions of Internet Explorer will sometimes render those posts blank. We always recommend anytime anyone posts directly from a Microsoft product to use the Paste from Word button.

I'll work to correct the posts in the links you provided so anyone using IE will be able to see them in full.

I'm getting something similar to this on Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer now:

All of these threads show only the original post, replies are invisible. I checked the html source and none of the replies are present in any form. The forum page shows that all three have replies and the latest post is not from the OP. Also, the search tool is able to find the replies, though clicking though takes you to a page which only shows the first post.

These posts were deleted over the weekend and our index should have purged the results. Thank you for pointing this out as we can investigate the cause of this problem.
