5.3 Installation failing to connect to software-dl.ti.com

I've tried a couple times to install from ccs_setup_5.3.0.00090.exe but it fails when it tried to connect to this URL:

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/CCSv5/CCS5.3.0.00090_win32

Here is the last lines from the install log:

03/21/2013 08:27:32AM - ** Checking to see if C:\ti/ccsv5/eclipse/downloads/.ijrunning.txt exists

My IT department doesn't allow us to turn off McAfee so I don't know if that is an issue.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Tim

  • Hi Tim,

yes McAfee could definitely be an issue.   Or proxy settings.  It seems the installer gave up and attempted to get files from a ti internal server.

Have you tried the full offline installer?  Would you be able to do that in a clean directory like C:/ti fully unzipping before installation.

Another thing that might help with McAfee is trying the 5.4 beta instead.  This has an updated unzip utility as part of the installer.

    Please keep us informed.

  • Hi Tim,

just wanted to check whether there were any updates with your enquiry.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Lisa,

I downloaded the off-line installer and that looks like it is going to work.  One more question.  I would rather not load the complete feature set. I'm using a C2000 Piccolo LaunchPad.  Which processor family should I select?

    Thanks,

    Tim

  • Hi Tim,

you should be able to simply select c2000 support.  You may also wish to select certain emulator support (xds100 etc) as this would be good for both the launchpad as well as possible future use.

Please keep us informed how it all goes.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
