error while debugging...

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS470MF06607

Hi

I successfully built the ccstudio c6678 example project and got the .out file. Then while debugging i got an error message

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -2131 @ 0x0)
Unable to access device register. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK).
(Emulation package 5.0.838.0)

please help me ,Thank you.

  • Hello,

    Try the following:

-Update to the latest CCS version (5.3.0.00090). If that does not help, try testing your JTAG connectivity:

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Debugging_JTAG_Connectivity_Problems

Please post the results of the test

    Thanks

  • I have XDS100v2 and my device which based on TMS470MF06607.

CCS version 5 tells me error:

Error 2131. Unable to access device register. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK).

Testing my JTAG connectivity by Debug JTAG GUI tells:

-----[An error has occurred and this utility has aborted]--------------------

This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver.

    The value is '-235' (0xffffff15).
    The title is 'SC_ERR_PATH_DR_BROKEN'.

    The explanation is:
The data scan-path cannot circulate bits, it may be broken.
An attempt to scan the JTAG data registers has failed.
The target's JTAG data path appears to be broken
    with a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault.

    Please, help me

    Regards, Roman

This is a serious error - basically your connection failed the most basic of communication tests. This is usually an issue related to the hardware being bad. Check the JTAG hardware connections on your board.
