I tried to access the Code Examples inside the TI Resource Explorer and got this message:

I'm in CCS5.3.0.00090, hosted in a Ubuntu 12.04 64bits.

I did a search for msp430g2x33_c_code_examples.js and find it at this path:

/opt/ti/ccsv5/ccs_base/msp430/msp430ware_1_25_00_30/examples/devices/2xx/MSP430G2xx3 Code Examples/C/!msp430g2x33_c_code_examples.js

Hello,

may I please confirm whether you are using a launchpad? The reason I ask is because the launchpad is currently not supported in Linux.

Also note unfortunately there may be some current general issues with msp430 in the linux version. Do non msp examples also cause you issues? (Just to help confirm)

I don't know... I'm starting to test CCS in Linux, never did a compilation. And I'm noticing that is not to use CCS in Linux...

I don't believe it is a MSP430's issue. It looks like a instalation issue (missing path or some thing like that). Navigating around the Resource Explorer, it is asking me to install Flash Player, that is already installed and running both in chrome and Firefox... I'm quite sure that is a installation issue...

yes I agree. It seems that you have a general interaction problem with flash player/ti resource explorer. Let me dig into this a bit further for you.

Hi Takaite,

the xds100 does not work with the msp430 family, however should work with other devices in Linux.

Lisa, I would like to highlight that I'm using 64bits version.

I tried to run Eclipse from terminal and got this message all the time:

`menu_proxy_module_load': /opt/ti/ccsv5/eclipse/eclipse: undefined symbol: menu_proxy_module_load

After "google", I had installed "appmenu-gtk:i386 appmenu-gtk3:i386 appmenu-qt firefox-globalmenu indicator-appmenu" and the message above disappeared, but now I'm with this error: "(Code Composer Studio:27723): LIBDBUSMENU-GTK-CRITICAL **: watch_submenu: assertion `GTK_IS_MENU_SHELL(menu)' failed"... I believe that this version I got is just for 32bits...

Hi Takaite,

yes you will need various packages and 32 bit support installed for ccs to run correctly. Please see this wiki:

Tks Lisa. In the end, I'll use VMWare and develop in Windows!-)

Tks everybody that follow this thread and I hope that TI give a good attention to Linux version because the future of embedded will be in Linux.

Hi Taka-san,

sorry for the inconvenience. There are so many LInux varieties it does not make things easy.

All the best with development. I think you need the 32 bit flash player but all the best anyhow.
