CCS Uniflash 2.1.0 issue (installation? missing dependencies?)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, TMS320F28335

I have an issue with Uniflash 2.1.0 on just one PC, running Windows 7 64-bits. We work with two types of targets, MSP430 and TMS320C2000. For MSP430, the CCS Uniflash software is able to recognize the MSP-FET430UIF tool, and I can burn the images onto the targets just fine. However, for a TMS320F28335 target, I get the following:

[13:30:32] Begin Launching session operation...

[13:30:32] ERROR >> Unable to load ..\..\..\emulation\tpi\tpi28xx.dll: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

[13:30:33] ObjectEventCallback error!!! com.ti.debug.engine.IApplication$InitializationException: Unable to load ..\..\..\emulation\tpi\tpi28xx.dll: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

[13:30:33] Operation Launching session returned.

This both for Spectrum Digital's XDS100V2 and XDS510USB emulators. Drivers are installed properly for both.

I've tried a complete uninstall and reinstall for Uniflash, as well as the previous version (V1), but nothing worked. On other PCs with same configuration in the lab, I can burn both MSP430 and TMS320C2000 targets without any problem. We have standard images on the PCs, so the possibility of the PCs having different versions of operating system is highly unlikely. Maybe it is an installation issue, but I've not been able to figure out what is the right way of installing Uniflash. Also, I'm installing it the same way on other PCs, so can't think of what could be the difference here.

Thanks

  • Hi Ahmad,

if the same configuration works on a lab pc my first thought might be .... permissions.  Do you have administrator access in the one case but not the other for example?  Is there any difference in antivirus that could be blocking that dll?  Permissions/user account items and antivirus are the two immediate things I can think of.

Please double check and keep us informed.

    Best Regards,

  • Lisa,

Thanks for the quick reply. I will definitely talk to IT and look at the permissions aspect of it. I'd thought about it, but there are two things which came to my mind:

    1. Why would MSP430 tools work just fine, but not c28xx tools?

    2. The operating system images on the PCs are the same (corporate images), so PC permissions should be the same too.

There is a possibility that the permissions got messed up, so I will investigate on those lines, and let you know if that resolves the issue or not.

    Thanks
