profiling starterware on AM335x Starter Kit

Hello,

I'm developing my software using StarterWare on AM335x Starter Kit. I want to profile the code, but the CCS won't let me. When in debug mode, the profile setup tells me "There is no activity available for the selected debug session." What is an activity and how do I add one? Any suggestions on how to profile the cortex-A8 core?

Hello,

Unfortunately Cortex-A8 does not support CCS hw function profiling:

Your best bet is to use the profile clock to count cycles. I think there is some bug with clock not being available for some cortex devices in 5.3 but it should be resolved in 5.4.
