how to use TI simulator to see the result?

hi

i have a book on DSP using TMS320C6713 by Rulph Chasing and i am working on given sample programs. every thing works well (till build process, no errors or warnings) but since i donot have DSK6713 with me, i want to see my output on simulator.how can i do so to make full use of TI simulator? any setup is required. i have CCS 3.3.

any changes that i am supposed to make in main program or any setup changes so that i can shift my output from hardware to simulator. (initially at the time of target setup i have selected 6713 cycle accurate simulator as my target). any other thing that i can do? is its mandatory to have DSK to learn DSK6713??

any reference material that tells how to use TI simulator?i have tries the program given in Rulph's book (sine8_buffer)but it gives nothing.

after debud, when i click run, i get following error

Error:   Memory Map Error: READ access by CPU to address 0x1b7c100, which is RESERVED in Hardware.

please help

  • You cannot use anything that is DSK-specific. For example: LEDs, buttons, external memory and codec.

Using simulator you can learn how to program the core but not DSK. As a result you need hardware to learn.

CCSv3 is ancient. You should upgrade to CCSv5. DSK6713 is also ancient anyway.
