Hi ,

I install CCSv5.3 and MCSDK on my Linux opensuse Computer.

Now I want to write a Programm and load it using JTAG in my DSP Board TMS320C6678.

on CCS go to File ->New->CCS Project.on Device a choose Family is C6000 and the Variant is C66xx Multicore DSP . But only TCI6614 and TMS320C6657 are found .

No TMS320C6678 is found

What it is wrong ?

Lopez,

If you run the update tool (Help -> Check for updates) there should be an item called keystone1. This updates the device support files for keystone1 devices including C6678. If you install it you will then be able to select C6678 in the project wizard. Another option would be to install CCSv5.4 when it comes out next week as it includes the support by default.

Hi John ,

I run the Udapte tool but it is only give one Output : No updates were found. And I also have no item called keystone1. My Internet Connection is correct.

There should be a number of updates visible. On windows I see a bunch. My Ubuntu 12.10 machine doesn't have 5.3 installed (only 5.4). I will check if I have it on another Linux box. It is entirely possible that they didn't post the Linux version of that Keystone installer. I can always copy the file and post it here so you can use it until 5.4 comes out.

Odd. My Fedora 18 machine has 5.3 and I see a long list of updates including keystone 1. Something must be getting in way of your update check.

You could try getting to it one other way, it may fail as well but it would be an interesting test.

Go to Help->Install New Software. Select the Keystone 1 emulators update site from the drop down and see if it finds anything.

In the meantime I will grab the file from my other machine and attach it.

I try to install the Keystone1 Emulators . But it cannot find anything. So I add these Sites manually :

I try again to update teh CCS and get this Window

I select the keystone but and install : this is the output : Cannot complete the request. See the error log for details.
Keystone1 will be ignored because it is already installed, and updates are not permitted.

has you a Solution for this ?

Lopez,

The file I attached won't fix the issue you are having with the update sites. What it should do is enable you to see C6678 in the project wizard when creating a new project.

I uninstall my CCSv5.3 and do a new Installation into fresh Directory. CCS is installed , but when I try to Update CCS and get the TMS320C6678 Device , I get the following Errors:

You are definitely having trouble accessing the update sites.

First can you confirm if you drop in the xml file I attached that you are able to see C6678 in the Project Wizard (Project -> New CCS Project)

As far as the updates sites not working do you require a proxy to connect to the internet? CCS tries to get this information from the system but it is possible to enter it manually. If you go to Window -> Preferences. Type proxy in the search box at the top left. This will filter the options shown to just those that have "proxy" in them. You should see an item called "Network Connections" in the tree on the left. Click on that. Now on the right will be the proxy configuration information. By default the drop down box at the top will be set to "Native". This is where CCS tries to use the same settings as your browser. However that does not always work. What you can do is change it to "Manual". Then you can select each of the entries for HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS and enter in your proxy information.

I have install CCSv5.3 and MCSDK for Linux on Ubuntu 10.10.

I can load and run the Demos Programms provide with the MCSDK . After this I try to load my Pogramm on my TMS320C6678 Board , but I get this Error :

C66xx_0: Trouble Writing Memory Block at 0x8000 on Page 0 of Lenght 0x6020: (Error -1190 @ 0x8000) Unable to

access device memory . Verify that the memory address is in valid memory. If erro persists, confirm configuration , power-cycle board, and/or try more reliable JTAGS settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 5.1.114.0)

C66xx_0: GEL: /root/workspace_v5_3/projecttest/Debug/projecttest.out; Load failed .

My Board configuration is actually :

SW3 : off,on,on,on

What is wrong ?

How I can change the Memory Part on the board to load my Programm ?
