CCS 5.3.0 Super slow linking on >some< computers! How to fix this? What is wrong?

Hi,

I recently upgraded from CCS5.1 to CCS5.3 (5.3.0.00090), and everything works fine - no issues, except now the final link takes about 4.5 minutes to link.  There are no problems with the build, the link will eventually complete successfully and with no additional issues. However, the 4.5 minutes is AWFUL to have to sit through each time I make a code change!  It used to take less than 20 seconds to complete!

I am not sure what is wrong here.  The real kicker is that I can do the same build on a different PC running the same version and same sources (we keep the projects and all sources in a central repository - .project files and everything), and the results are like they used to be!  The link completes quickly (normally)!!!!  I also have CCS installed on a virtual linux machine (Ubuntu 12.04) and the link there is quick as well.

I am not doing anything different in the build settings - there are additional include directories in the compiler section, but the linker section has nothing but the defaults set there.

Several of my colleagues are also facing this same issue.  It is driving us crazy!

I have tried everything I can think of!  I have tried starting CCS with the --clean flag.  I have tried deleting the work space entirely and starting from scratch!  I have even uninstalled and re-installed CCS totally in case it was an installation problem!  Nothing helps!  It is still taking forever to link!

Are there any known issues on this?  Are there any work arounds or better yet fixes?  This is awful!

Thanks for any help or suggestion.  I would be happy to provide any supporting information if this is not enough.
