CCS 5.4.0.00091 not loading xdctools and SYSBIOS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSBIOS, MSP430WARE

Hi,

I installed CCS 5.4.0.00091  and afterinstallation I see that the xdctools package is not being found. I performed a full install and there were not issues during installation. After installation when look at the 'Window->Preference->Code Composer Studio->RTSC->Products' the discovered list is empty ( ). I re-installed both SYSBIOS and xdctools and this did not help.

  • Hi Sudhanand,

did you install and use the same account and permissions?   Can you send the installation logs?  These are in the installjammer registry directory which could be hidden and is under program files or program files (x86).  Some typical issues

    - antivirus

    - mapped/junction/virtual drives or servers

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

I used my personal enterprise account on my laptop to install CCS. I am attaching the logfiles from the InstalJammer Registry. I was not sure which file(s) you need so I have zipped up all the folders with a timestamp matching the time I performed the installation. Just FYI after I installed CCS I re-istalled XDCTools and SYSBIOS independently to see if that would help so those logs might be included as well.

  • Hi Sudhanand,

is it only xdc tools you are having issues with?  there is a known issue in the current release with the mcsdk packaging.  Would you be willing to remove the version you have and try the version from here:

    You need 2.21.02.43.

    http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/ndk/2_21_02_43/index_FDS.html

    Link to all target content:

    Please keep us informed.

    Best REgards,
    Lisa

  • Lisa,

The issue is with all tolls. When CCS starts up it does not discover any of the  installed packages (SYSBIOS, xdctools, PDKs etc). I will install the MCSDK version you have recommended and let you know.

    Regards,

    Sudhanand.

  • Lisa,

The link you have provided takes me to an NDK package page. Did you want me to try NDK or MCSDK?

    Sudhanand

  • Hi Sudhanand,

the second link has all target content.  Let us know how it goes.

    Best REgards,
    Lisa

  • LIsa,

After I installed the NDK package you recommended, I still do not see CC discovering the newly installed package (or any others).

The only package it discovers is C:\ti\ccsv5\ccs_base\msp430\msp430ware_1_40_00_26

When I do select this to be added it fails with the following error.

    Operation details
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

  • Hi Sundhanand,

Could you send us the zip of your eclipse/configuration/ directory?  And also, the <workspace>/.metadata/.log file from the workspace on which you've opened your CCS after it was installed.

    Thanks,

    - Baltasar

  • Hi Baltasar,

Yesterday I renamed the existing "c:\ti" folder and re-installed CCS. After the installation CCS was able to discover the XDCTools and SYSBIOS (that were installed along with CCS) correctly. I installed other packages and it was able to sucessfuly discover the installed packages.

To me it looks like the un-install of the previous version of CCS was incomplete and left behind some residual files/folders which was causing issues.

Let me know if you still would like to see the files you listed in your earlier response.

    Regards,

    Sudhanand.
