CCS5.4.0.00091 Unable to Open Existing Workspace

After installing CCS5.4.0.00091 (using the offline installer found here ), I am initially able to open up my previous workspace.  However, after I close the CCS IDE and attempt to reopen the workspace, I run into a "An error has occured" dialog box and the CCS IDE never shows up.

Here's the log file I got.

  • Hi Timothy,

does this happen with every workspace?  Are you attempting to open a workspace from a previous version?   If so I would strongly advise importing your old project instead via project->import exsisting ccs/eclipse project.

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • does this happen with every workspace?

Yes, every workspace including empty ones I've tried to create.

Are you attempting to open a workspace from a previous version?

Yes, and I attempted to create new and empty workspaces with the same result.

I also tried reverting to CCS5.3.0.00090_win32 (offline installation), but am running into the same issue now.

The problem occurs after the CCS splash screen where the tools request specification of a workspace.

Here's an empty workspace log error.

  • Hi Timothy,

It looks like debugger is somehow not available. I.e. there is tons of exceptions about not being able to find debugger classes.

Would you be able to send us your  install logs? These would be in the installjammer registry directory.  This folder may be hidden and is found in program files or program files (x86).   Was 5.4 a fresh installation of the full version (upgrades are known to be buggy)

Also what would help us if if you could send some  configuration information from  Help -> About CCS : Click on Installation Details, switch to Configuration tab ; select all -> Copy and paste into a text editor, save and send .txt file.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • I uninstalled/reinstalled 5.4 several times. The only thing I did different on the last attempt was delete the CCS pinned shortcut before reinstalling.

Now, everything seems to work with the latest installation.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Timothy,

great, happy to hear and thanks for the update.

    All the best with development.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
