Hi,
I've unsuccessfully tried installing CCS 5.4 using the off-line installer and the web installer. My system is Windows 7 SP1 (32 bit) and before running the setup I disabled the anti-virus. The installation starts normally but then I get this error: "An error was detected while performing the engine operation and the changes are being rolled back. See the log for details."
Then the installation stops and I get the following message " Installer failed to install com.ti.ccstudio.idemain correctly. The 2 most common reasons for failure are:
1. Anti-virus on your computer could have impeded the executable.
2. Download is corrupted.
Please look at the log..."
I'm attaching the installation log file.
Thanks in advance.
This is exactly the same problem that I'm having with CCS 5.4
It is also not resolved. :(

Gabriel,
Your install is failing to install one of the data visualization features but I'm not sure why. Could you navigate to C:\ti\ccsv5\eclipse\configuration, zip up any *.log files you find there, and post that information here? The most interesting one would probably be C:\ti\ccsv5\eclipse\configuration\1368984826088.log because it appears to be the first failure.
These are all the .log files generated at that directory and I also included the "InstallJammer Registry" folder. I had to run the installer again because, after I get the error message, the installation starts rolling back and deletes everything inside the "C:\ti" folder.
Hi Gabriel,
Could you please zip up the contents of the folder C:/Users/0x029B/com.ti.dvt and send it to us? It will help us debug the issue further.
Thank you,
Danish Innis
With the show hidden files option enabled, even during the installation process there is no "C:/Users/0x029B/.TI//com.ti.dvt" folder; there is a "C:Users/0x029B/TI" folder, but it only has a "CCSExternalReferences" folder inside. Maybe the installation doesn't reach the point where it creates the folder(?). The only folders with "com.ti.dvt" in their names are these:
I notice the bottom two .jar files in the image above are 0KB in size.
Are there other files in the eclipse/plugins directory that are 0KB in size?
Sorry, are there any other non-"com.ti.dvt" .jar files that are 0kb.
I'm trying to determine if the installation issue is also affecting other CCStudio plugin files.
I notice in the image above you have vmware shared folders enabled.
There was recently a posting regarding this where CCStudio installation failed in the same place:
http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/266403.aspx
Can you try disabling the vmware file sharing, and fully unzip and install locally to some simple dir like c:/myccs. Do not go between c and d.
Many thanks,
Mike.
Yes, that fixed it!! I just disabled file sharing and it worked
I already had the off-line installer unzipped in "C:/CCS5.4" so I didn't thought that file sharing got something to do with the issue. After the installation I re-enabled file sharing, and everything seems to be working fine.
Thanks a lot guys!!
Gabriel.
