CCS Update Issue from 5.2 to 5.4

Dear TI,

I experienced this update issue when going to 5.4 from 5.2.  Any suggestions?

-Jason

  • Jason,

Did this come from a specific project you were trying to carry over from 5.2? Additionally, what libs/sources were you bringing in?

Every so often there are naming issues between the different versions that don't carry over well, but this might also stem from some other project settings. Could you possibly post a bare-bones version of your project? What I mean by "bare-bones" is keeping the majority of the include paths and project properties intact, while removing the source?

  • Reagan,

Thanks for your prompt response.  I was not playing with projects at the time.  I opened CCS and looked for new updates.  When I do this I get the following error message.

  • Jason,

Up until today I've been running 5.3 since 5.4 was changed from being beta to release. I am installing it now, and hopefully I can reproduce the error in some manner, but either way, I'll get a response from the CCS team by end of day.

  • Jason,

After installing CCS 5.4 to the same directory as where I had CCS 5.3 (C:\ti to modify C:\ti\ccsv5), I had no issues with checking for updates and installing those updates. In the mean-time, can you confirm that you installed to the same directory as where you had 5.2, and also the workspace path when you opened up CCS was valid? The workspace path can be the same as what you had for 5.2.

  • Hi Jason,

were you looking for a specific update?

    Please note

    - we always recommend running the latest version but the update path from v5.2 to v5.4 is not supported so I would suggest a fresh full installation of v5.4 in a clean simple directory

Please keep us informed how that goes.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Thanks for the feedback, I understand, but I had to ask.  Thanks for the support.

  • Hi Jason,

no problem, glad to clarify and sorry for any inconvenience.

    Best Regards,
