windows xp not able to detect EZ430-F2013

Hi

I am using ez430-f2013 with windows xp and code composer studio v5. My hardware is not able to detect the ez430-f2013. Sometimes it does detect after a restart etc. But most of the times it fails.

Is there any windows patch / firmware update i need to take care of

    Hi Suchitra,

    if the following comment does not help, I recommend posting your question to the msp430 forum.

    My experience makes me think you hit a "glitch" in the eZ tool behaviour I have seen myself.   I have seen the eZ tools to for example function plugged in to one usb port but not when plugged in to another ... So my suspicion is something similar might be happening here with your usb ports or hub.  I don't recommend use through a hub.

    Hi 

    I discovered two problems.

    1. If you do a fresh install of windows XP and then install CCS on it. The detection of the ez430 would be inconsistent. You need to update the windows xp installation with all the patches etc.
    2. If there is no code loaded in the device attached to ez430 it would not be detected. So if you are doing trials be sure not to load "blank" files in the MSP.
    After taking care of the above two issue I am able to connect to the ez430F2013
