CCS Uniflash 2.1.0 doesn't start.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hello everybody,

we installed the CCS Uniflash on a WinXp SP3 machine, without any error during the installation procedure.

But now, when we start the software, it opens the main window and suddenly close it.

The log error is the following. Anybody have an idea about the solution?

Thanks a lot. Regards.

  • Devis,

Could you please open a command prompt and type:

    set TI_DS_ENABLE_LOGGING=1

    set TI_DS_LOGGING_OUTPUT=c:\temp\uniflash.log

and then start uniflash from that command prompt?  Once it crashes, there should be a log in c:\temp that you can attach to this forum thread.

    Thanks,

    Darian

  • Dear Darian,

many thanks for your prompt reply.

I did the procedure but at the end there is no uniflash.log file in c:\temp.

    Regards.

    Devis

  • Devis,

Ok, I guess it crashes before that.  Could you type echo %LocalAppData% in the command prompt and let me know what is printed?

One possible work around may be to set the environment variable TI_APPDATA_DIR to a valid folder you have write access to.  Assuming c:\temp is such a folder, that would be:

    set TI_APPDATA_DIR=c:\temp\

then start uniflash from that command prompt.  Assuming this works, you can set then set that environment variable globally and start uniflash as normal, but I'd still like to understand why this is crashing.

    Thanks,

    Darian

  • Darian,

I typed "echo %LocalAppData%" and the PC return "%LocalAppData%"; so I tryed "echo %APPDATA%" and the PC return "C:\Documents and Settings\User\Dati applicazioni".

We also check the work around you suggested, but nothing changed.

Your help is really appreciated. Thanks. Regards.

    Devis

  • Devis,

I took a closer look at the error log you attached.  The problem is that your processor doesn't support the SSE2 instruction set.  You'll have to either upgrade your processor, or downgrade to uniflash 2.0.

During development of uniflash 2.1, we upgraded to a newer compiler.  In the newer version, Microsoft changed the defaults for the minimum processor instruction set required.  This wasn't something we noticed during development, testing, or early adopter releases, and in fact you're the first customer to run into this limitation.

    Darian

  •

Have we won something? Sorry, I say as a joke.

Now it is clear, many many thanks for your prompt support.

    Regards.

    Devis
