Does Uniflash needs CCSv5 installed ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hello

I am now using Uniflash instead of SDFlash to program some modules with Piccolo F28027 installed, and I am using the Command Line option in a LabView application.  Since this application will be installed on some production computers, I was wondering if I can use the Uniflash tool without the CCSv5 installed on the computer, as a stand alone tool.

Thank you for your answers.

Pat

  • Pat,

UniFlash is a standalone application and does not need CCS to be installed to be used.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions about UniFlash.

    Thanks,

    Ricky

  • Since we are in the subject, I get a licensing warning when I use the Command Line mode, any idea why ?

    *EDIT*

I do not get the warning when I use the Uniflash as stand alone on the production computer, I get it only on my development computer where the CCSv5 is installed.  And yes, my licensing info is fine with CCSv5...

    weird...

  • This is interesting; I've never seen this warning message before.

Here's a quick explanation: behind the covers, UniFlash uses the same licensing component as CCS, so it is picking up an expired evaluation that was used for CCS on the machine. But since UniFlash does not need any license to work, you can safely ignore the warning message; although it might be a little misleading, especially if you are writing a script to catch warnings/errors.

On an unrelated issue, we did make a change recently that will make it so this message will not appear. I think that particular change should either be picked up in the next UniFlash (2.2) release, coming out this week, or the release after that. I have to look up the information to see if the fix was picked up or not.

Please try out UniFlash 2.2 when it is available and let me know if the message is still showing up.

    Thanks,

    Ricky
