Problems during CCS5.4.0.00091_win32 installation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSBIOS

Hello.

I tried to install new official version of CCS5 but got errors (see attached .doc file).

As suggested, I zipped the Install Jammer Registry folder; fearing it was a problem caused by antivirus, I shut it down and tried to install again; unluckily, the problem came out again.

I tried many times to attach the zip of the 1st trial and the one of the 2nd trial (xxx_1st.zip and xxx_2nd.zip), but always got an error near the end of the upload; can you tell me how I can send them to the right TI guy?.

Please let me know ...

Thank you for your time.

  • Hi Mario,

could you please post the logs here?  These are the ones in the installjammer registry directory (which may be hidden and is under program files or program files (x86))

Do you happen to have an nvidia graphics card?  We have seen some incompatibilities with some of them.

In the mean one thing you can try is to remove the logs and isntallation(s) .... sending them to us and making a copy ... and try again.  If you try many times, sometimes the installer can enter "rerun" mode which is not good.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa.

Sorry but I really cannot attach the zipped folders of the 1st installation (while antivirus was active) and the 2nd installation (after disabling antivirus). When I select a file and press SAVE button I'm informed that I have to select a file to upload. I begin feeling stupid ...

Actually my PC has NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M graphics card; I could not believe it might be a matter of graphic card ...

I will try again after deleting jammer folder.

    Thank you for your time.

  • Hi Mario,

it does not seem you have the type of nvidia card we have seen issues with (see below).   The logs are really what we need in order to help you.  If it would be easier to send them offline please feel free to do so and use my ID (which is a link) to start a friend or conversation request.

  • Hi Mario,

I have had a quick look at the first set of logs.  It is never a good idea to have many installation attempts and also never a good idea to install over another installation.

Can I please clarify what exactly you see?  I ask because you logs show the following

1 - one log seems to show a successful installation

2 - one log shows a stopped installation ... the issue seems to be that a D and C drive are involved.

Please clean out your installations and try from the beginning with a full clean installation unzipping and instlalling to a simple local directory like c:/myccs and keep us informed how that goes.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa.

I'm attaching the zipped log of my third installation; I tried to install in C:\TI (overwriting existing CCSV5.3) just after cleaning the log folder CCSV5.

About old zips: in past times I tried to install to disk D: but some messages let me understand better using c:\ti as suggested by default.

I will wait for your reply before reinstalling from scratch ...

  • Hi Lisa.

Even if you have not yet answerd to me, I have uninstalled CCSV5.3 form my computer, leaving all other folders in c:\ti (i.e. c:\ti\am335x_sysbios_ind_sdk_1.0.0.8 , c:\ti\bios_6_35_01_29 and so on); then I installed CCSV5.4.0.00091 and all worked fine (CCS also correctly discovered other packages in c:\ti).

What's the best behaviour when the next release of CCSV5 will be available? Act as I did this morning?

Another question: as far as you know, when will TI-RTOS for Sitara be available? Somewhere in TI web pages / forum I read "at end of 2013Q2"; is this date confirmed?

    Thank you for your help.

    Mario

  • Hi Mario,

great, very happy to hear you have a working installation.  thanks for the update and yes, I would always recommend a fresh installation to a new folder doing everything locally.    So as future versions come out, do keep that in mind.

regarding the RTOS question .... unfortunately that is not something that comes from our group so we here are not best able to help.   I would recommend you ask in the Siara forum.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
