ccs v5 installation error

I download the installation pack from wiki.ti : http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS

I first choose the Off-line Installer, and I only select MPS430 processor because I'm just start to learn about it.

and then I just click the next button with the default settings.

after several minutes it reports the error like this and stop(the main installation window stop after it says: Installing edipserepo.zip ...done):

later I choose the Web Installers but it dosen't work and comes the same report.

what can I do ? :(

ps: both the installation pack extracted directory and the directory I want to install are all in English.

  • Hi,

would you be able to send us the installation logs?  This will be the best place to look for clues.  You can find them in the installjammer registry directory.  The directory may be hidden and is under program files or program files(x86).

    Some things to consider:

    - you should not use junctions/servers/mapped locations

    - you should disable any antivirus

    - you should try the full installer

    - there is a known issue on pcs with a specific type of nvidia graphics card

At any rate, if you could please send the logs we will have a look for you and hopefully get you going with ccs!

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Thank you so much for your reply :)

But my schoolmate on the BBS suggested that I should install the v5.1.1 version instead of v5.4.

And it works!!! I'm starting to learn how to program now :)

    and there's one more thing.

I've saved the error installation logs that was found  under program files(x86).

I'm willing to send them to TI for improving the software, but the problem is: there are many log file, and I don't know which one to send (or all?) and how can I send them to TI.

If there's a need for feedback, just tell me. If not, just leave this thread. It's ok, I've solved my problem anyway :)

    thanks again.

  • Hi,

thanks for the update and very happy to hear you are up and running.  we always recommend the latest version due to imporveents and fixes.

If your problem was only with 5.1 I don't know that the logs will help us.  Many of the issues with that old and different installer have been fixed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
