EVM6657LS with supplied XDS200 emulator seems to require full CCS license??

Hi all,

Just purchased a EVM6657LS with supplied XDS200 emulator. I loaded the CCS v5.2.1 supplied on the DVD but it did not have support for the XDS200 emulator.

So I upgraded the installed CCS v5.2.1 to CCS v5.4 which does have support for the XDS200, however when I try to launch the configuration it says it requires a license!!!

The product spec says it comes with a free copy of CCS ???

Have I done something wrong on the install?

Does the free copy only work with built in XDS100 emulator???

What did you select as the connection type? Make sure to select the "onboard XDS200 USB emulator", if you select the non-onboard one then you will need the full license.

Just another detail: although it seems obvious, make sure the correct USB port is connected: J1 on the top board (white cable), instead of USB1 on the main board (black cable).

It worked for me on my Windows 8/64 (check the attached screen capture).
