Cannot Add Link File In CCS5.3.0

I am trying to link some resource in a project In CCS5.3.0.

I right click the project, select "add files..." , then select a .c file, and then chose "link to files " and click ok.

But nothing happens. What is the problem ?

    HI Lucifar,

    could you explain/send screen captures on what you mean by "nothing happens".    In ccsv5 you also have the ability to drag and drop files.  Have you tried dragging and dropping the file onto your project ... you should then get a box asking if you want to copy or link.

    Hi Lisa,

    Maybe I said too simple.

    Yes the popup dialog shows, and I choose "add as link". But after that, the project contains no file as before.


    Then while I trying "drag and drop", it directly copy the file into the project.

    Then I see the "drag and drop configuration", it turns out the "allow linked file" is disabled.

    After I enable this option, it works fine now.

    Anyway, it's still strange to see the box letting me choose to "copy file" or to "link file" while the "allow linked file" option is disabled.

    although I also find it a bit odd, I am happy you found the setting that was causing problems.
