CCS5.4 stop responding when examine Register window.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L137

Trying to make a simple thing like making a PWM with 50% dutycycle and when examine/modify the registers in the register window, makes CCS crash, requires a ignoring restart of CCS.

CCS5.4 target OMAP-L137 EVM, onboard JTAG.

platform Windows 7 64 and XP SP3.

CCS5.4 often freeze but this is happening every time after a while.

Claus.

  • Hi Claus,

is your problem specific to the one project/workspace?  Or are you seeing crashes with all projects/workspaces?

The best thing to find out what might be happening is if you could send us the dump files (Important) and error logs generated.

This wiki will help explain how to do that:

  • 6562.log.zip

This is the log files etc.

If different workspace makes any difference I don't know, but I have seen some instability but have not noticed what workspace.

    The thing happens like:

    Looking at PWM registers.

expand one register, point on a parameter to see what options

open another register, and if the error is there the register will not expand

trying to do something else and the CCS5.4 window turns into this look indicating that nothing can be done, and the dialogue box with not responding appear.

It can be reproduced and happens almost every time I try looking in the registers.

    Claus.

  • Hi Claus,

would you be able to check for any dump files or error logs?  These are the logs we need.

    Best Regards,
