Installation Error

I don't see any attachments.   what version and what OS are you working with here.  Are you trying the latest (v5.4) with antivirus disabled and no junctions/servers/mapped or shared drives?  Could you try resending the logs.

Win7 is the OS, and yes the latest v5.4.  Can't disable the antivirus due to corporate control as far as I know. 

Trying to reattach the log file.  Use the options tab here, and clicking to add file.  Is there another means to do this?

I uninstalled, which also removed a working version of CCS 5.2

The new install with the full installer failed in the middle, with a message that the debug server stopped working.  See the attached word file for the error messages.  Also attaching the log file.

What do I need to do to get the install to succeed?  I'm at the MCU deep dive and I need this to work.

Hi Tim,

It looks like one of the components crashed. Do you have 2 or more display adapters, one of which is NVidia?  

If so, there was an MS update on NVidia drivers for windows 7, 64 bit machines that's causing the crash.

As a workaround, could you go into NVidia Control Panel/3D Settings/Manage 3D settings, then for the "Base profile" Global presets, set Preferred graphics processor drop-down to "High-performance NVIDIA processor".

Let me know if this is not your problem, and we will investigate some more.

In my NVidia control panel/3D settings/Manage 3D settings, there is no "Base Profile", but there is a Global Setting with a drop down that is set to "High-performance NVIDIA processor" already - it was not set to Auto-Select.   So I don't think this the problem.

I'm unsure why the workaround isn't addressing your issue, but I have been working on a more permanent solution, and the issue has been escalated to the two 3^rd party vendors involved.  I should have a solution for you to try out in a few hours.

I see that there is a Windows update for the Nvidia drivers.  Should I do this update?  It's from March 2013 and is 229 MB.

Tim, we don't think that will help. AFAIK, a fix for this issue has not been released from Nvidia yet.

Good news!  I borrowed another CCS5v4 setup exe from another person here, and it installed with no issues.   I must have had a corrupt download file.  Is there a way to verify the setup file before starting the installation.  A CRC or something more complete may have saved us all some time.
