Mike,
It looks like the installer wasn't able to handle the unc path for the installer package location (//ADTECH-39M37DHB/Users/MichaelWowzynski/My Documents/Downloads/CCS5.4.0.00091_win32/CCS5.4.0.00091_win32/). Could you please try to move it to a drive, like c:\ instead and try it again? Delete any leftover files in the installation folder i.e. c:\ti\ccsv5 before running the install.
If you do run into a problem, please copy the contents of the install_logs in c:\ti\ccsv5 before you click on ok and post them here.
Thanks
Danish
Danish,
I followed your suggestion and unzipped the install file into the C:\TI directory.
I have tried many times to re-install CCS since my first post. The most recent try was preceded by a complete CCSV5 uninstall, followed by CCleaner (to remove residual registry entries), and I deleted all entries into the InstallJammer Registry that were time stamped coincident with the latest try. I still got an error that prevents me from using Code Composer.
Attached are the InstallJammer Registry entries that coincide with this latest attemp, and the hs_err_xxxxxx.log files left in the C:\TI\ccsv5\eclipse directory.
Hi Mike,
From the logs, it looks like your install went fine. What's the error that you get when starting Code Composer? Does it crash or give you some kind of other error? Are there any logs in the eclipse/configuration folder? I'm going to send the hs_*.log files to some developers to take a look in the meanwhile.
Danish
Can I ask what model CPU this PC has? I ask because one of the logs has an illegal instruction exception on what looks like a valid SIMD instruction. That might indicate your CPU does not support the instruction set being used.
Hi Danish,
I am having difficulties getting CCS v5.4 installed too. I was directed to use off-line installer, but in vain. Please see the attached file. 1854.ccs_setup_5.4.0.00091_install.log
Thanks,
Sean
Hi Sean,
This crash seems to be related to an MS update on NVidia drivers for windows 7, 64 bit machines.
There are many complaints on the web and some solutions. One suggests that this may have something to do with the switching between the two display adapters not working.
As a workaround, could you go into NVidia Control Panel/3D Settings/Manage 3D settings, then for the "Base profile" Global presets, set Preferred graphics processor drop-down to "High-performance NVIDIA processor" if it was set on "Auto-select"?
Please let me know if this is fixes your issue.
Thanks
Danish
