CCS V5.3 under Ubuntu 10.04 can't detect MCSDK 2.1.2.6 package

Hello,

I have CCS 5.3 installed on Ubuntu 10.04, later I upgraded it to CCS 5.4. Then I installed BIOS-MCSDK 2.1.2.6. Due to a known issue http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/p/268472/939376.aspx, the MCSDK package can't be added into RTSC depository.

So, I removed MCSDK 2.1.2.6, removed CCS 5.4, installed CCS 5.3, then installed MCSDK 2.1.2.6, unfortunately MCSDK can't be detected and added by CCS 5.3. Attached two screenshoots.

Hi,

did you do everything with consistent permissions/user account? Ie all as sudo or all as user? If not, we have seen similar issues.

I can't remember. Let me remove everything and re-install as sudo and come back to you.

I un-installed CCs and MCSDK. Then, I re-installed them as sudoer:

sudo ./ccs_setup_5.3.0.00090.bin
sudo ./bios_mcsdk_02_01_02_06_setuplinux.bin

I still can't add MCSDK into CCS. See what I detected:

What under my /opt/ti folder:

What can be the problem?

Hi Eric,

If PDK fails to install on CCS v5.4 due to incorrectly defined OS filters, then it won't install on CCS v5.3 either. For the same reason. Only in CCS v5.3 you won't see the error message that you see in 5.4 - we've improved error reporting in CCS v5.4.

Eric,

As Lisa has summarized in http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/p/268472/939376.aspx , it's the MCSDK product that needs to fix its OS filters in order not to allow CCS to install its plugins on Linux.

So, basically, you'd need an update to MCSDK to fix this issue. Rolling back to CCS v5.3 wouldn't help.
