In regards to a CCS upgrade on Windows Vista.

At the end of upgrading from CCS Ver. 5.1.1.00031 to the latest Version (5.4), this message appeared: "The Ccstudio executable launcher was unable to locate its companion launcher jar." When I attemped to start CCS, the same message appeared and CCS failed to start.

Does anybody know how to troubleshoot this problem?

Hi Thomas,

It sounds like your update failed to install correctly. Without the install/update logs it's hard to say why, but since the product has changed significantly from 5.1.1 I think the easiest would be for you to download 5.4 and install that directly. If you want to install in the same folder, please make sure you delete everything under ccsv5 before you start the installation and make sure your anti-virus is off.

Your advice for deletion only involves deleting everything under the ccsv5 folder, and not use the Windows Control Panel to Uninstall CCS, nor use any of the uninstall programs found in the ccv5 folder.

So everything will be OK, meaning, the OS Registry will be OK, if I just perform a simple delete?

Yes, you can safely delete the installation, the registry will be ok.

Thank you very much. Deleting and re-installing CCS solved my problem.
