Evaluation of safertos demo on stellaris LM3s9b96 using CCS

a) I want to use ccs IDE completely for the peripheral simulation like TCP/IP, SD Card, Ethernet along with SafeRtos without using any Hardware Board. Are all these possible on simulator itself? If not are there any other ways of getting it done. My main problem is that i do not have any HW/Board.

b) The second point is that i could see in .ccxml file few of the settings like . CortexM3 Device Cycle Accurate simulator under Texas Instruments  Simulator and also Stellaris in-circuit debug interface which gets selected by default when i select for the target configuration at the start. May i know the difference between the two.

regarding your first question, I have passed this to the simulation team to see what feedback they have on what is supported in the simulator.  Hopefully we can get these details for you  (we will try)  but I would recommend ordering a stellaris launchpad to be honest to get started.

The difference you see in the ccxml is the simulator is the simulator, the in circuit debug interface is used on some stellaris evaluation kits (ie hardware).

                 We currently support M3 simulator with Systick(timer internal to M3) and flatmemory.  No peripheral are supported outside M3.

So you would not be able to run application specific to decive which would need periphreal modeled.

                  Below is the information I could extract from the team here. I assume SafeRTOS comes from "Wittenstein". I suggest you to check with them on the minimum peripheral need to support this.

As per the information I go internally. Below are the minimum peripheral needed

• Timer ( I assume you should be able to use Systick)
• MPU(This is supported ),
• System Software interrupt which is part of System module. This would not be supported in Simulator
